Cantine Innocenti, Chianti Colli Senesi 2019

Cantine Innocenti are about as traditional an Italian winery as it's possible to get. With their cellars in the medieval town of Montefollonico dating back to the 13th Century, the team at Cantine Innocenti have tradition and authentic Tuscan winemaking at the forefront of everything they do. Chianti Colli Senesi 2019 is made from a blend of predominately Sangiovese with a touch of Canaiolo which adds a bit of structure. This is a properly old-school Chianti in that fresh fruit characters are not the aim of the game with this wine; it is instead gorgeously meaty, savoury and oaky which play on a backdrop of red fruit, and makes for an awesome pair with cheeses and charcuterie.
